Vanderpump Villa Season 2 Cast Interview

We have six returning faces mixed with plenty of new faces in the second season of Lisa Vanderpump’s Vanderpump Villa. The season kicks off with some true jockeying for position when it came to the old heads wanting to ensure they knew the lay of the land. I caught up with the six returning house guests in Anthony, Marciano, Grace, Hannah, Andre, and Gabriella to talk about returning to the show, laying down who was in charge and gossip about the relationships.

Love in Reality: When you get the phone call about season 2. What’s going through your head? And was it like an easy yes for you?

Hannah: It was. Yes, it was the easiest, yes, ever. But I was very excited to go to Italy.

Love in Reality: The game kind of changed in season. 2. With a chance of a job in that $30,000 bonus check. What was it like finding out? Those were the stakes, this time around.

Gabriella: I mean, I was excited, definitely. That’s not something that I go in with, especially in this. In this experience. I think it’s it rolls. It runs deeper than money. But I was interested to see how the rest of the employees were going to be and how the dynamic was going to be. So I was a little nervous.

Love in Reality: I think one of the interesting dynamics is blending some of the cast from season one and some of this new cast. Was there? Maybe some like, you know, jockeying for position of like, perhaps. Hey, we’re the OGs here, while also, like having an upper hand of kind of what to expect from what’s ahead, from the expectations from Lisa.

Andre: Absolutely. You know, it’s almost like when you’re in sports. You got your rookies and your vets. You’re there to know to make sure they work, but to mentor them at the same time. But it was a lot of nervousness going on at first with the new cast. And you just have to tell them, Look, come on, man. Lisa hired you for a reason. So just take your time and do it, and let’s get it done right. And you know that that friendly reminder helped and made the process a lot smoother.

Gabriella: A 100%. I mean, that’s really how I went into it. We would probably suffer the most from that because we know the operation. And then we’re dealing with people that don’t. So it’s on us to make sure that they understand what’s happening because we don’t have months and months to train. It’s right then and there. We have to get it done.

Anthony: And most of the new cast members came with respect right away. For that reason, they say, we want to learn from you. So we know you actually have been working in the restaurant business before or whatever. But working for Lisa is an entirely different experience, you know. Therefore, they all respect that.

Gabriella: They respected, but doesn’t mean that they lived up to what they, what they needed to do. I can assure you that.

Love in Reality: One of the more important jobs is that you’re delivering the food every single day, and you face some inexperience early on. Talk to me about facing some of those adversities, and how your experience in the real world helped you manage some of those expectations.

Anthony: The problem we have today is that most of the people are getting confused between like being a good chef and being a good cook and being a chef or a sous chef, being a good cook, that means you can make delicious food. I have no doubt about that, being a chef or sous chef. That means, like, you have to know how to lead a team.

You know how to stay calm during the pressure. You know how to stay organized. You know how to stay structured, and take some responsibility. Unfortunately, I didn’t see that on Bridget right away, and instead of losing my time, I said. It’s not going to work, you know, like I have no doubt that she can be a good chef, or a good cook. But she didn’t have the skill to be a sous chef, and I didn’t have the time to teach her.

Love in Reality: The urge to come back, did that stem from maybe wanting somewhat of a potential redemption arc for how season one unfolded for you?

Marciano: Yeah, I mean honestly, at the end of the day, no matter what. I just want to be able to prove myself to Lisa and to the team that I am capable of doing the job. I can do the job to a high extent. But I wanted to fix some of these broken relationships that I had going into the year. So it was a multitude of things that I wanted to exceed expectations that maybe I didn’t reach before. So there are many different things that I went incorporating into this season.

Love in Reality: There seemed to be some, you know, I guess, unresolved, you know, past here with Gabriella. What was it like seeing her arrive at the house? And kind of what were your expectations?

Andre: You know it was. It was good. I think me and Gabriella have always had a good relationship. So you know, even seeing her in that space, you know, coming in, it was kind of like a breath of fresh air, like, Okay, I got somebody I can, you know, count on and talk to or whatnot, and that kind of understand? So, it was good.
