Destination X has slowly become the best new reality TV show of 2025. The competition series that follows a group of players who travel a country in a blacked-out bus with the goal of figuring out where they are each week is coming up on the season finale. I had the pleasure of chatting with the series show runner Andy Cadman about how he got attached to the project, casting, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and even chatted a little about the rise of Love Island USA.
Andy Cadman has been producing reality TV for over fifteen years now with his name attached to series like I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!, Love Island UK, and Love Island USA. In my chat with Andy, his passion for reality TV is unmatched. Our discussion only explores why his shows go on to be so successful because of the care and thought process behind it all. In our chat we explored how he became attached to Destination X, the navigation of the routes, and the casting process. We also dove into the casting of Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the host. Morgan has been one of the highlights of the series with how much he has put into being a great host.
What is Destination X?
In a globetrotting reality competition hosted by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, 10 players embark on the international adventure of a lifetime as they travel across Europe in a bus with blacked-out windows to beautiful yet mysterious locations. Every episode, they must compete in challenges to earn clues that will help them answer one simple question… where in the world are they? Using their wits as a guide, the players create alliances and rivalries at every stop, all in the hopes of taking home a life-changing cash prize.
