Building The Band Interview with Vibi

Fifty singers walked into the booths with the hopes of building a band with fellow artists from across the world in the Netflix series Building the Band. One of those artists was Vibi, who wowed her fellow musicians with her rendition of Miley Cryus’s “Flowers.”  I had the wonderful pleasure of sitting down with Vibi to talk about her career, her time on the show, and what’s next. 

From the moment you see Vibi, you get his infectious energy that makes you want to get up and dance with her. Her vocals were spot-on, and she impressed audiences, but more importantly, she impressed those fellow artists, getting 18 likes, allowing her to advance to the next stage. Within that stage we saw Vibi vibe with Donzell, Aayliah, and Cameron. 

It came down to Vibi and Katie on who would be the fourth member of this band, and Donzell and the group ended up going with Katie. In our conversation, Vibi talked to me about what went down in those moments and even said she understood why they went with Katie instead of her. 

Since the show, Vibi has released a new single and even a music video for her track ‘why you?’ The song showcases that fun, vibrant vibe that you get from the time we saw her on the show and even within our interview. The entire chat was quite insightful into the mind of Vibi and how she became a singer and how she veered down the path she is on today. 

At the end of the day, it’s easy to root for the Vibi’s of the world in the musician space because she is relatable, full of energy, and most importantly, she can sing.
